We are absolutely delighted to announce that Orroland Holiday Cottages has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Self-Catering or Exclusive Use category at the South of Scotland Thistle Awards.
The Thistle Awards celebrate excellence across Scotland’s tourism industry, recognising businesses that create outstanding visitor experiences while making a positive contribution to their local communities. To be named among this year’s regional finalists is a real honour for our family business.
For us, this recognition belongs to the whole team.
Every member of the Orroland team plays a part in creating the experience our guests enjoy, whether that’s preparing the cottages to an exceptional standard, caring for our gardens and estate, maintaining our facilities, or providing the warm welcome that so many guests mention in their reviews. We are incredibly proud of what we achieve together.
A valuable opportunity to improve
While we were naturally excited to submit our entry, one of the greatest benefits came from the application process itself.
Preparing our submission encouraged us to take a fresh look at every aspect of the guest experience, from the moment guests book their stay through to the memories they take home. It gave us the opportunity to reflect on what we do well, identify areas where we could do even better, and challenge ourselves to keep raising our standards.
Many of the improvements we’ve introduced over the past year were reinforced through this process, ensuring that every visit to Orroland continues to become even more enjoyable.
