By renting the cottages in addition to Orroland Lodge you can house 27 guests at Orroland. All guests can dine comfortably together in the dining room at Orroland Lodge.

For larger parties, there are many good B&Bs in Auchencairn, within 10 minutes of Orroland. By special arrangement, we are normally happy for you to put up a marquee in the grounds as long as it can be erected and removed during your week without disturbance to other guests.

Our wedding was beautiful and the views from the gardens made a great setting for the photographs. Everything has been perfect.

A unique Scottish wedding

Why not combine your unique Scottish wedding with a holiday in this unspoiled corner of Dumfries and Galloway?

For the wedding itself, you can arrange to have a religious service here at Orroland or a civil ceremony at one of the historic venues nearby. There are splendid ruins like Dundrennan Abbey (just 3 miles from Orroland) and MacLellan's Castle in Kirkcudbright (8 miles).

Threave House and Gardens, near Castle Douglas (12 miles) offers a variety of interesting wedding options. The garden is glorious in all seasons.

You can choose to be married in church or in a local registry office, at Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas or Dalbeattie. Gretna Green, the world's most romanticised wedding location, is only an hour's drive from Orroland.

Catering Arrangements at Orroland

For your wedding reception the dining room at Orroland Lodge seats thirty guests at tables.

We work closely with an excellent catering company which provides delicious food at keen prices. Catering arrangements for your wedding reception - drinks with canapés, hot or cold buffet, sit down lunch or dinner each with waiting staff are all in good hands! Their flexible approach ensures there is a solution for all sizes of party and budget.

We can also arrange for delivery of homemade ready-cooked meals direct to your holiday door so all you have to do is heat it up. Great food by phone, such a treat!

A cook can normally be arranged. We are fortunate to have several local contacts that cook professionally at sporting lodges and ski chalets and so on. This can be a cost-effective solution and if using a local contact there is no need for you to accommodate them.

Everything has been perfect. Orroland Lodge is a wonderful setting for a wedding party. We don't want to go home.

Honeymoon in Scotland

The two cottages at Orroland - Cutlar's Lodge and Abbotsway Cottage - are both ideal for a romantic honeymoon. When you come through the gates to Orroland, you are totally secluded from the outside world.

Please note that the prices for Orroland Lodge are based on its use by 14 people. We welcome larger parties, charging a small fee for the 15th person onwards as a contribution to the extra furniture and equipment required for larger parties. This is between £5 - £10 per extra person depending on the length of stay.
