Galloway Forest Park, New Galloway — 22.7 miles

The park covers some 300 square miles of forest, moorland and lochs. You are welcome to walk anywhere in the park, and there are waymarked trails catering for a wide range of abilities from children and the less able to experienced long distance hill walkers. The Southern Upland Way passes through the heart of the park and there are bothies maintained by the Mountain Bothies Association.
